Looking for an Unusual Valentine’s Day Gift

Looking for an Unusual Valentine’s Day Gift?

With the 14th February just around the corner, it won’t be long before the cards, roses, bottles of pink champagne, and heart shaped cushions start to adorn our supermarket shelves. Which is all very well, but what if you’re looking for something different to give your ‘true love’ this year?

Valentine’s Day means something different to everyone, and it’s celebrated in a myriad of ways, from romantic dinners, to first dates and getaway weekends. For those who’re looking to surprise their Valentine with a truly unique experience, though, Corzo & Wood has a few suggestions.

Handmade Silver Jewellery

Violeta Corzo & Sarah Wood are jewellery designers and makers who started out as friends. Now they work together creating unique handmade jewellery. Each piece is a labour of love, using a range of natural materials from silver to freshwater pearls and semi-precious stones. Their designs are inspired by nature’s cycles, and reflect the changing seasons of the Buckinghamshire countryside.

Imagine giving your Valentine a piece of jewellery that is ‘one of a kind’. Corzo & Wood jewellery is all handmade, at their studio, using a blend of traditional and contemporary jewellery making techniques. You can browse the many different designs online, or visit them at their independent gift shop in the grounds of National Trust Property, Claydon House.

Spend the Day Together at Claydon

No-one’s sure exactly what the origins of Valentine’s Day are, but the poet Chaucer suggests that it’s the beginning of the birds’ mating season. And he could be spot on. The middle of February is the time when the first spring flowers make their appearance and birds get busy with twigs and leaves, starting to build their nests.

Why not celebrate Valentine’s Day by having a day out in the Buckinghamshire countryside? The Corzo & Wood shop is a box of unique delights, situated in the Georgian courtyard of Claydon Estate. We share this beautiful location with a variety of shops, galleries and eateries. Perhaps you could surprise your Valentine with a gift of his/her choice from Corzo & Wood, or introduce them to the jewellers who made their unique gift?

Give Your Valentine a Unique Experience

We’re passionate about making jewellery, and it’s an experience we love to share with others. So we run small workshop groups for people to design and make their own piece of jewellery which they can wear and take away. You don’t need any experience to enjoy the day. We guide our participants through the whole process, and you’ll get to create your own individual piece of jewellery.

Sometimes the best gifts we can give to show our love are those that offer time out to be creative. Our gift vouchers mean that you can book a workshop at a time that suits you. And who knows, you may find that you want to come back for more. We also offer advanced workshops and one-to-one tuition.
