Workshop Overview

Our 5‑week Beginner Silversmithing Workshop is the perfect introduction to traditional jewellery‑making. Designed for complete novices, this course gently builds your confidence through hands‑on learning, clear guidance and a beautifully structured sequence of projects. You’ll learn essential skills step by step while creating your own collection of sterling silver jewellery in a relaxed, friendly studio environment.

We work exclusively with 100% recycled sterling silver, ensuring every piece you make is both beautiful and responsibly crafted.

What You’ll Learn

Across the five weeks, you’ll be introduced to the core foundations of silversmithing, including:

• Sawing
• Filing
• Soldering
• Forming
• Texturing
• Polishing
• Basic jewellery assembly

Each session builds on the last, helping you develop confidence, skill and creative understanding at a comfortable pace.

Projects You May Create

We’ll work through the beginner silversmithing projects in order of complexity, ensuring each new technique feels achievable and builds naturally on what you’ve already learned. Students are encouraged to work at their own pace — once you complete a project, you’ll simply move on to the next one in the sequence.

This approach allows everyone to progress comfortably while still enjoying the full learning journey, from simple hand‑tool techniques through to more advanced construction and setting skills.

How the Course Works

• 5 weekly sessions, each 2 hours
• Small, supportive groups to ensure plenty of individual guidance
• No experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to learn
• You’ll progress through the beginner projects as a group, spending 1–2 sessions on each depending on complexity
• After completing your first 5‑week block, you can rebook the next block to continue your journey through the full ten‑project programme
• By the end of the complete programme, you’ll have the skills and confidence to create your own unique jewellery designs using traditional silversmithing techniques
