Make Your Own Spinning Ring
An inspiring one-day workshop using traditional skills and recycled silver.
Sarah or Violeta will warmly welcome you with a cup of tea or coffee—and by the end of the day, you’ll leave with a unique spinning ring, handmade by you!
Throughout the session, you’ll work with recycled sterling silver, using traditional silversmithing techniques and tools. You’ll begin by cutting your silver to size with a jeweller’s saw, then filing it to shape. After softening the metal with a blowtorch (a process called annealing), you’ll shape it on a mandrel using jeweller’s hammers.
Soldering is often the trickiest part, but don’t worry—we’ll guide you every step of the way. Before making your final piece, you’ll practise on copper to explore texturing techniques. Once confident, you can add those textures to your silver ring.
Finally, you’ll clean and refine your ring to a beautiful finish—especially satisfying if you’re someone who enjoys the finer details.
