Corzo & Wood, The Courtyard, Claydon Estate
You’ll find our small, independent jewellery studio and shop in the picturesque, cobbled courtyard of the National Trust property, Claydon Estate in Buckinghamshire. Once the beating heart of an eighteenth century Estate, our cobbled courtyard is now home to artists’ studios, two galleries, an eatery for tea and cakes, shops and Corzo & Wood. Surrounded by tranquil gardens and parkland, it’s the ideal location to take time out from your normal routine.
Jewellery Making in Buckinghamshire
We’re Violeta Corzo and Sarah Wood and we’ve been designing, making and selling jewellery together for 17 years. In 2017 we became Corzo & Wood, moved to our studio, and opened our shop at Claydon. The environment is hugely important to us. We take our inspiration from the natural landscape and our earrings, bracelets and necklaces reflect the shapes that characterise each of the changing seasons.
Design and Make Jewellery Workshops
Our workshops provide the opportunity to spend time away from it all learning how to design and make jewellery. You don’t need any experience; we offer beginners’ workshops as well as more advanced courses. You’ll be given the time and space to work creatively with a precious metal, and at the end of the day you’ll have a unique piece of jewellery to wear and take home.
We often run our jewellery workshops for friends and families who are celebrating a birthday, wedding, anniversary or who just want to enjoy time together. Many of our participants want to do something special to make the most of a day off. We typically run small sessions for groups of 3 or 4. If you are interested in larger groups please let us know as we can accommodate these on certain dates . If there’s a special design you’d like to realise, we offer one-to-one tuition.
What the Workshops Include
Our sessions normally run for afternoons or full days. We guide participants through the process of design and making, with demonstrations of traditional and contemporary techniques along the way. You can choose to make stacking rings, wrapped rings, cuffs, bangles, pendants, earrings, stud earrings and cuff links. All the jewellery items can be adapted for men or women.
