Make a Textured Pendant and Small Pair of Earrings in Metal Clay: Full Day Workshop

You will be welcomed by Sarah or Violeta at 10 am and served tea or coffee and by 5:30 pm you will have made your own pendant and small pair of earrings!

Precious Metal Clay (PMC) is a versatile clay-like substance with particles of fine silver. The beauty of metal clay is that it can be manipulated in the same way as any modeling clay, but once fired, the binding agents are burnt off leaving the metal form intact. By using metal clay, very fine detail can be achieved, including impressions that would require casting in any other method of metalwork.

This is a great introduction to PMC, the aim of this workshop is to introduce you to the tools used and learn the basic techniques of preparing and handling the clay, shaping, adding texture, firing, and finishing your jewellery.

You will have the opportunity to make a textured pendant and a small pair of earrings or charms. You will go home with pieces of your unique jewellery.  Please note: depending on the size of the jewellery made, it may need to be kiln-fired, occasionally this will need to be done after the workshop. As with all our workshops, materials are provided to purchase on the day. This workshop is suitable for those with no experience or for those who want to come back and work on their own projects.

Materials not included
The course price does not include materials, so please be mindful of this when you think about what you would be interested in making, but we can explain this to you before you start your project.  We sell all the materials required for your project. A 15g pack is £45.  From a 15g pack, it is possible to make a small pendant and a pair of earrings.

No experience necessary

This workshop is suitable for those with no experience or for those who want to come back and work on their own projects.  Our students have described the workshops as “relaxing, therapeutic, fun, creative, enjoyable, addictive and great value.”
